Project 13- Utopia/Dystopia

Image
In general, our shots are taken from various angles and of many different object and things in many different areas. Also I think that main focus of the dystopic images was grimness and the main theme for the utopic was happiness and liveliness.

Project 12- Stop Animation

By: Bodie Fahey, Griffin Webb, Jace Karnes, Halston Litch For our animation we took Legos and moved them around to make some sort of bank robbery type of situation. For our animation we set up the scene and then gradually moved the Legos to resemble real movement. We had to restart a couple of times as it did not turn out as wanted.

Practice Animation

This is my practice stop animation made with farm animal figurines.

Inspiring stop motion

Image
I like this stop motion because it looks very realistic and at some points the stop motion is unrecognizable. Furthermore, the story isn't very long but it is very intriguing and I enjoyed the editing.  In this stop motion I liked the use of the claymation and the simplicity of it while also being quite well made. Also I liked the comedy a lot. This is a stop motion thatI found to be quite fascinating as they use pictures of them in the air quite a bit which would be hard to do but also they are around my age so they must've been pretty good at making stop motions.

Project 11- Magazine Mockup

Image
My groups magazine is based around travel and nature. My contributions to the magazine include making two spreads one with an ad on each page and the other being an article for the magazine(as seen above). I created them using pictures which I had already taken in the past and creatively finding ways to transform them into something that I was able to use for the spreads.

Inspiring Magazine Designs

While scrolling through many different magazine covers, ads and magazine bodys i was overall inspired by many things that stood out to me and had very unique looks to them.  Cover: Body and Spread: Ads:

Project #10 - Portrait Photography

Image
This is one of the commercial portraits that I took. It is a commercial for allergy medicine and I thought it worked quite well with the colors in the photo and how they compliment the product, as well as how the product doesn't have to be shown but could be present in the photo.  For this fine art portrait I liked the blue background and how it worked really well with the subject. Then, while editing I liked when i took out the blue from the background because then it made a very nice contour of her shadow. This is the second commercial portrait of my math teacher, being how he is, he told me that he never smiled in photos and hence I needed to add one onto him for it to seem realistic and to seem like he enjoyed the product. to further show how it was a commercial I put the product logo in large text to make it stand out. Finally, in this fine art portrait I wanted to highlight the subject and something that represents them. To do so, I made the background balc...

Fine Art vs. Commercial Portraits

Image
by Unknown This is a commercial with Woody Allen for the company Smirnoff where he is no in the center and the focus I would say is more on the alcoholic product instead of on the film director/actor and he is there as "the money maker". Whereas, is the Fine Art picture there is only him with his face close to the camera and nothing to distract you from the subject of the photo, even the background is blank putting emphasis on him and what he's wearing. Also in the commercial portrait, the background, although bland, compliments the product and sort of hides the person in it making the product stand out even more. Furthermore, the commercial is not too clear and the fine art is very detailed, although this may be due to the fact that one is taken years after the other. by Philippe Halsman

Commercial Portrait

Image
A commercial portrait is one that shows normally a famous person's face and uses them to promote a product and to sell something, it is used a sort of commercial, hence the name. by Unknown I think this is trying to promote Reebok and specifically the hockey gear that they sell By Nick Fancher This seems to be promoting the Nike brand and their football gear. Or the Cleveland Browns football team.

Fine Art Portraits

Image
A Fine Art Portrait is a Portrait which shows artistic values and does not promote a product while instead showing the creativity of the artist. by Alex Majoli What I like about this portrait is that it shows only the face of the person who is being photographed and really keeps a tight focus on their facial features. By Philippe Halsman I like this because of the simplicity of the photograph and also due to the fact that it gives off such a classy and elegant vibe.

Project09 Surrealism and Photomontage

Image
In this image i just took a bunch of different weird things and cut them and then placed them around the background image. This image shows surrealism because there are cars riding on a lamp-post, there is a huge eye in the sky, a big face behind the mountain and a person sitting on top of a building.  Furthermore, the cars are the smallest thing in the image which is unrealistic as they are normally bigger than people, eyes, and faces. In this image I chose to put a tidy that I made to make the sky look abnormal and then I put a fish in the sky to add even more weirdness to the picture. This is surrealism because the sky is not actually like that and also because fish don't fly.

Project 07: Multiple Images

this is a panorama from the steps of the Washington Park looking back down at the MAC and Lincoln High School This is a small panorama of some bamboo This is four photos layered on top of each other  this is a picture of a house and car and tree where I took the same picture as best I could while focusing on different lights so that the entire photo can be more clear. this is two pictures of my shoes which are very vibrant on top of a picture of a cool pattern that I liked.

Cyanotypes and Infrared

Image
What infrared photos give you: Normally infrared picture are directed towards the landscape and are easy to distinguish from the rest as they more often than not will have major color shifts and high contrasts. As for black and white pictures it gives you dark skies and white foliage. What is infrared: Infrared film is sensitive to visible light, ultraviolet radiation, and infrared radiation, which helps to visually show the heat emitted from the subject. Infrared photos process infrared radiation reflected off the subject from a light source. The light source can be from the sun, natural light or artificial light. There are many different types of infrared film which have various sensitivities to ultraviolet and infrared radiation as well as visible light, which all help to determine how the picture will turn out. Infrared pictures are used to portray emotion, drama, and mystery in a dream like or surreal setting. Infrared film is very sensitive to light and must...

Project 06.5 Community Project

Image
In this project, I shot the patio/ front of Lincoln High School. I chose to take photos this way because Lincoln's front is long, it has a lot of windows, two exits, and a large flag in the middle. My partner, Griffin, and I took a very forward view of this project, photographing Lincoln as we see, some small emphasis on a clock in the end. We collaged out photos together to make it seem very realistic like an actual photo of Lincoln's front.

Semester 1: Reflection

Image
Two photographers that I discovered are Mark Thomas and Peter Lik who are both photographers. I liked their work because they photograph landscapes which really interest me and animals which also interest me. If I had to choose a favorite project I would choose making the kaleidoscopes because I liked all the different ways that you could combine images together to make something so abstract. Now after just one semester I now have a much greater appreciation for photography then I did before.
